CAPTAIN ROSS MURRAY, British,
34 Wherever you’d
like to cruise, chances are Ross has sailed there. After graduating with a
degree in geography from Hull University in 1993, Ross sailed all around the
UK, the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean – East and West, the Caribbean,
Central America, the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes.
Ross has charter experience
on sailing yachts up to 130 feet in length, including several Swans and the
classic schooners Aschanti IV and Queen Nefertiti. A keen racing sailor,
he has competed in the Sydney to Hobart Race, the Nioulargue (now Les Voiles
de St. Tropez), Antigua Race week and all the major Caribbean regattas.
From time to time Ross has lived on dry land, working for British
Aerospace, a computer software company and on a game ranch in Zimbabwe. From
September 2003 to July 2006, he captained a Swan during a three year
circumnavigation starting in Newport, RI and finishing in Croatia via the
Panama and Suez canals, cruising in the Pacific Islands, New Zealand,
Indonesia, Thailand, India and the Red Sea.
Adding to the practical
knowledge he has gained sailing tens of thousands of sea miles - including
10 transatlantic crossings, Captain Murray holds a Class IV (3,000 ton)
License and MCA Certificate of Competence with Command Endorsement. He is
certified in the following modules:

Fire Fighting
First Aid
Ship Captain's Medical
Ross has a private pilot's
license and enjoys skiing, squash, tennis, rugby and wood carving.
Chef Croydon Cole,

Croydon has all the
traits of a first class charter chef. He is disciplined and creative,
focused and adaptable, conscientious and fun-loving, self-motivated and a
good team member. He has an easy personality and is quick to laugh, but
always professional.
His experience is
extensive - covering more than 12 years in New Zealand restaurant kitchens
plus yacht galleys from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. His training is
comprehensive – from stocks and sauces to pizza, pasta, bread baking and
desserts. Croydon has held positions as head chef, chef de partie and sous
chef in restaurants featuring Classic Italian cuisine, Spanish tapas and New
Zealand seafood & grill specialties. In his home country, new Zealand,
Croydon has been written about or written for several magazines and two
major newspapers.
Being a yacht chef
gives Croydon “the opportunity to create some of the best cuisine with the
availability of some of the world’s best ingredients”. He has worked on
some of the best yachts, including the Perini Navi sailing yachts Felicita
West, 64 meters, Klosters, 46 meters and Azzurra, the 30 meter Jongert.
His interests are
many and varied: Diving, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, snow boarding,
golf and camping, reading, movies, motor sports – and dining out!
Whatever your
