Captain Matthew Watters

Matthew is an experienced captain who has logged over 35,000 nm on various sailing vessels, in UK waters, the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Caribbean, and East China Sea. He has completed four Trans-Atlantics, most recently skippering Luskentyre across in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruises), on a cruise that visited the Port of Mindelo, in the Cape Verdes. Matthew holds an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate, a MCA Proficiency in Medical First Aid, and is a PADI Divemaster.

From 2002 to 2005 Matthew skippered an Oyster 56 "Luskentyre". During those years he chartered in Mediterranean (French Riviera, Corsica, Illes de Porquerolles, Minorca, Majorca, Gibraltar, and Canary Islands) and the Caribbean (from Antigua south to Grenada, including the Grenadines). While in the Caribbean, Matthew worked as a team with St Lucian chef, George Henry, to establish Luskentyre as a popular charter vessel, specializing in cruises throughout the Grenadine islands.

April, 2005 to 2006 Matthew was the skipper of Oyster 72' "Luskentyre". He successfully chartered Luskentyre in Croatia, and Greece during season of 2005, and in Caribbean from St Lucia north to BVI's during season of 2005/2006.

When not onboard ship, enjoys life at home in St Lucia, where he resides with his wife Norma, in Monier. Interests outside boating include literature, scuba diving, mountain biking, and climbing the Pitons.
